Last night, the Undergraduate Student Government held a meeting to discuss alternatives to HuskyMail. We applaud the move as a long overdue step towards the organization's stated goal of representing the student body. For too many years, USG has let the purpose of their group be dominated by the politics of the funding board and the organizing of free food and trinket giveaways. (1) comment

As the health care debate continues to get muddled by the politicians and mainstream media, the actual human element of the debate is lost. Everyday people - our friends, teachers, parents and neighbors - are struggling with the implications of our broken health care system. (2) comments

This flu season millions of hard-working Americans, struggling to receive swine flu vaccines amid rising shortages, can take comfort in the fact that one high-risk group will be protected: prisoners. Prisons in Massachusetts, Ohio, Missouri and Texas may receive the swine flu vaccine before the public does. (1) comment

Yesterday, the swipe machine wasn't working at the dining hall. Instead, they had everyone write their information down. I wrote my name down as "Thomas Tutone," Peoplesoft ID: 8675309.
