Through all of her success, senior attack/midfielder Tracy Mullaney remains forever humble and proud of her team.

"No one can accomplish anything without the help of their teammates," Mullaney said.

Humility as well as success are qualities that personify Mullaney's sterling career at UConn. A living legend, Mullaney will go down as one of the greatest players in UConn women's lacrosse history.

Mullaney's senior year has been the culmination of her great UConn here. No stranger to the All-Big East First and Second teams and All-Northeast team as well as gaining the distinction as a Preseason All-American this year, Mullaney has shown she is one of the premier players in college women's lacrosse.

A communication and public relations major from Cockeysville, Md., Mullaney came to UConn in 2002 and was added into an up-and-coming program with enormous potential. Although going 3-13 overall and 1-3 in Big East play the previous season, Mullaney chose UConn for its close-knit team atmosphere and rising quality of play.

"[UConn] was an up-and-coming program that had all the right pieces to be the next lacrosse powerhouse," Mullaney said.

Her impact as a freshman was immediate, becoming the Huskies' leading scorer of the season with 30 goals and adding 11 assists. On her way to garnering All Big-East Second Team honors, Mullaney scored a point in every game but one and registered five hat tricks on the year.

The next two years, Mullaney continued to lead the Huskies in goals scored for the season with 37 in 2003 and 41 in 2004. She was always in the top echelon in ground balls and draw controls for her team and displayed a defensive tenacity that mirrored her offensive skill.

UConn Coach Bonnie Rosen recruited Mullaney and has seen her progress first-hand over the years.

"She is athletic, determined, aggressive, competitive, and very entertaining," Rosen said. "She has grown tremendously in both her skill and her understanding of the game. She is a true goal scorer and [...] every time she gets the ball she is thinking about scoring."
