5. 'When Harry Met Sally'
This is a story about love conquering all. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal play two people who meet after college and go in an out of each other's lives for years until finally they become friends and they explore the question can two people of the opposite sex be just friends? This is a movie everyone should watch multiple times.
Best line of the movie: "I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
4. 'Love Actually'
This movie is simply about love, in all its many forms. It follows the interconnected stories of different people in England and their various relationships: from a newlywed couple, a woman who chooses her mentally challenged brother over a potential relationship, a cheating husband, the prime minister who falls for one of his staff and others. The message is a beautiful one that love actually does exist everywhere, and the all-star cast includes Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson and Keira Knightley.
Best line of the movie: "It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there."
3.'West Side Story'
A modern day version of "Romeo and Juliet." It tells the epic romance of Maria (Natalie Wood) and Tony (Richard Beymer), two young people madly in love, but their families are rival New York City gangs. It is a musical with some of the most beautiful songs like "Somewhere" and "Tonight."
Best line of the movie: "Hold my hand and we are halfway there, hold my hand and I'll take you there."
2. 'Blue Lagoon'
Two children are stranded on an island and must learn to fend for themselves. They quickly adapt to life just the two of them, and just as quickly they fall in love. It is a love that is pure and simple, it will make you wish you were stranded on an island with that special someone or that you had someone to be stranded with. Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins play the young lovers.
Best line of the movie: "You're really acting silly lately, Em. Always saying dumb things like that. Always looking at me funny! You're not coming down with something, are you? Don't give it to me."
1. 'The Notebook'
This movie is about a romance that is completely based on passion and connection. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have such on-screen chemistry they are believable as true life soulmates. It is a story of first love lasting forever and transcending all hardships.
Best line of the movie: "I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived. I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough."
