Stewart To Highlight Family Weekend

As the traffic on Route 195 increases and students begin frantically cleaning their rooms and shoving various "choice" objects under beds and into closets, the approach of parental visits and this year's Family Weekend becomes apparent.
Various clubs and organizations once again succeed in providing a plethora of activities, events and shows to please any parent or student for the whole weekend.
The UConn women's soccer game against St. John's kicks off the festivities Friday evening, according to uconnhuskies.com. Also Friday evening the Students Union Theatre is showing "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."
Saturday at 8 p.m. is the Alumni Association's Legacy Breakfast held at the Alumni Center. The UConn Parents Association is hosting the Family Weekend Hospitality Tent from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to familyweekend.uconn.edu Also on Saturday is the 60th Annual Horticulture Show, held at Hicks Arena. On Saturday there are also several presentations by various professors, exhibits at the William Benton Museum of Art and an evening presentation at the Student Union Theatre of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." All Student Union films are $1 for students and $2 for guests.
The highlight of this year's Family Weekend is once again the comedy show. This Saturday night Jon Stewart, host of "The Daily Show," will be here to entertain UConn students and their visiting guests, according to jorgenson.uconn.edu. Sold out for both the 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. shows, Stewart will be a sure hit at UConn.
