Northeast beaches are not the only vacation locations with a signature accessory. The Caribbean has its own rendition of the Cape Cod bracelet known as the Hook bracelet.

The Caribbean Hook has meaning beyond its souvenir. Turning the Hook to face your heart, means your heart is taken and good fortune will come your way. Turning the hook the other way means you are available and sharing your good fortune, according to bluedolphingold.com.

Although they may look like simple knick-knacks and calico prints, these bracelets and belts serve purposes other than holding up your pants. They are representative of a leisure and vacationing culture. A slightly snooty and upper-crust air is emitted with each Vineyard Vines oxford and Cape Cod bangle. They send the message that the wearer "summers." In addition, it offers a bit of sanity during the cold New England months.

Amongst the horns and bells of the hectic world, it is soothing to look down at your wrist or necktie and hear the ocean and think of memories and good times to come.
