The Connecticut State Police along with Mansfield Fire Marshall, John Jackman raided the Thirsty Dog Café on Thursday night and found that the amount of patrons was, "significantly over the established limit," according to a press release.
Jackman ordered that all the customers leave the Thirsty Dog, until it was made safe for the legal amount of people to return, according to the press release. Six underage people were also found inside the Thirsty Dog.
When contacted by The Daily Campus Sunday night, Karen Grava, UConn's Media Communications director was unable to comment on the incident because it was handled by the UConn police.
"We had to leave, then they let us back in," said Marissa Cote, a 7th-semester communication major who was at the Thirsty Dog Café on Thursday. Cote added that the process took about a half-hour and described the process as being "no fun."
Cote said that while police were checking identifications during the raid, they did not check every patron's and she was not checked.
