No. 5 Women's Track and Field March 4, 2007
UConn's women's track and field team won the 2007 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship for the first time in program history, defeating a field of more than 50 teams. Becoming just the eighth team ever to win the ECAC title, the Huskies finished first place in the 1600-meter relay.
No. 4 Women's Cross Country Nov. 20, 2006
Senior Jill Sullivan finished 24th out of 252 runners in the NCAA Cross Country Championships, earning her All-American honors, something that has never been done at UConn. Sullivan also became the first woman to qualify for the NCAA Championships in 10 years.
No. 3 Field Hockey Oct. 25, 2006
The No. 9 Huskies beat No. 6 Boston College 4-3 in overtime, extending its winning streak to 12 games. The Huskies improved to 17-2 with the win and continued its excellent season by going all the way to the NCAA semifinals before losing to Maryland in penalty strokes.
No. 2 Women's Basketball Feb. 11, 2007
With the game tied at 69 and just seven seconds remaining, sophomore guard Renee Montgomery hit a clutch 3-pointer to give the Huskies the win over No. 7 LSU, snapping the Tigers 43-game home-court winning streak. Montgomery scored 20 points and hit five 3-pointers in the game, including another clutch one in the final minutes to put the Huskies up by four.

In one of the wildest games in UConn football history, the Huskies pulled off an improbable upset, shocking Pittsburgh with a 46-45 double-overtime victory at Rentschler Field behind quarterback D.J. Hernandez's frantic run into the end zone on a 2-point conversion. Pittsburgh scored first in the second overtime to take a 45-38 lead. But then, freshman running back Donald Brown, who ran for an incredible 205 yards, scored his second touchdown of the day to pull the Huskies within one point. Living on the edge, the Huskies decided to go for two points and win the game. With the blitz coming, Hernandez stumbled, and then beat seemingly every Panther defender before crossing the goal line. Hernandez ran for 130 yards and threw for four touchdowns on the day, including two in the fourth quarter to cap the thrilling 14-point comeback.

How about a mention that the women's polo team won the National Championship for a third straight year (beating Cornell and then University of Virginia)in Lexington Ky. (Continued…)
