This 2006-2007 sports season at UConn has without a doubt been a memorable one. Like every year, each team had its ups and downs, but there is often that one defining moment that sticks out each season. Here are the top 10 moments this year in UConn sports.

No. 10 Women's Lacrosse April 24, 2007

On Senior Night, senior Shannon Burke became the first Husky ever to score 100 points in a single season by scoring five goals and three assists. Each of the five seniors who played recorded at least one point, as the No. 20 ranked Huskies beat Quinnipiac 14-7.

No. 9 Men's Basketball Feb. 5, 2007

UConn beat Syracuse 67-60 at Gampel Pavilion for their first quality Big East victory of the season, but the night was about the 16 UConn basketball legends who were honored at halftime of the game. The "Huskies of Honor" display retired the jerseys of those who helped make UConn basketball what it is today. One of those jerseys belonged to coach Jim Calhoun, who earned his 500th win at UConn with the victory.

No. 8 Women's Ice Hockey Jan. 13, 2007

UConn defeated No. 4 Dartmouth 4-2, the highest ranked team ever defeated by the Huskies. Freshman Dominique Thibault scored two goals to lead the 12-19-1 Huskies to the upset victory.

No. 7 Softball April 19, 2007

In a 6-6 game with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Jillian Ortega knocked in a single to win the game 7-6 over Central Connecticut State University. The hit propelled the Huskies to a five-game winning streak, earning them a spot in the Big East tournament.

No. 6 Men's Soccer Oct. 7, 2006

Toni Stahl scored a goal in the 81st minute against Seton Hall to give the Huskies a 3-1 win over the rival Pirates in a pivotal Big East matchup. The goal by the freshman Stahl was an acrobatic scissor kick to knock the ball in the back of the net, coming off a free kick. The win gave the Huskies a 6-1-1 conference record, setting themselves up nicely for postseason play.
