UConn Says Good Luck To 89 Varsity Athletes

Baseball



Larry Day - Catcher - This year's co-captain was a Third Team All-Big East selection in 2006 and a pre-season All-Big East selection in 2007.

Dennis Donovan - Infielder - The co-captain leads UConn this season with a .328 batting average and 29 RBI. He set the single-season record for assists in 2006 with 162.

Josh Farkes - Outfielder - Led the team in 2006 with a .349 batting average and a .507 slugging percentage.

Ted Garry - Pitcher - Reliever led team in 2005 in saves with 4 and 22 appearances. He struck out 13 batters in 21.2 innings this season.

Brendan McGinn - Pitcher - Led team this season with 2.60 ERA and a 6-1 record.

Matt Untiet - Infielder - Tied for team lead in doubles with 10 this season. Set single-season put-out record with 493 in 2006.



Men's Basketball



Marty Gagne - Guard - Walk-on played four games for the Huskies in 2005-2006, and six games in 2006-2007.



Men's Cross Country



Kyle Eckman - Finished 116th at the New England Championships, finished second in the Central Connecticut Mini Meet and finished 74th in the Big East Championships in 2006.

Max Feldman - Earned NCAA All-Academic honors and participated in the NCAA Cross Country Championships, finishing 135th in 2006.



Women's Cross Country



Jillian Sullivan - NCAA All-Academic Team member set the school-record with a 21 minutes, 16 seconds time at the NCAA Championships on her way to earning an All-American honor.



Field Hockey



Kristin Galuski - Forward - Finished third on the team with 8 goals and fourth on the team with 18 points in 2006.

Meagan Hoffman - Midfielder - Finished second on the team with 8 assists and third on the team with 22 points in 2006.

Barbie Steffen - Back - Started a 25 games for the Huskies, tieing for the team lead, and contributed an assist in 2006.
