Judging by the number of people that I have spotted in the library over this past week, I can tell mid-term time is upon us. With all of these tests, essays and projects coming up is anyone having sex this week? But there are ways to go about stressing with your loved one. Whether or not sex is involved, taking a break and spending time with someone who means something to you can help you overcome these crazy stressful times.

There are many ways to blow off steam when midterms are through. I have overheard people say, "As soon as this test is done, two p.m. tomorrow, I am chugging a beer!" By why not distress while you are studying. I personally know that when I am freaking out about a test, it is always nice to have something to take my mind off things for a while.

According to Love.ivillage.com, the three causes of a lessened libido during times of destress are anxiety, stress and exhaustion. I don't know about you but that is me in a nutshell right now. Personally I would love to have something that would make me feel at ease and calm at least for a portion of my day.

Corrie Colwell, a 3rd-semester journalism major, said that while she was at the library last night, her friend jumped out of her seat and said, "I am so stressed I just need to leave and go have sex with my boyfriend right now." Corrie said she was shocked to hear this, but then understand why her friend thought that sex would help relieve her stress.

"I wonder if hooking up right now would actually relieve my stress or not. I guess it would be nice to have something to take my mind off of vocab and memorizing stuff right now," said Colwell.

During exams, people get anxious and frustrated when they are trying to cram six weeks worth of learning into a few days of studying. Studies show, however, that sex or any form of exercise produces endorphins; a chemical in your brain that allows you to feel happy and can rejuvenate your mind and body and leave you feeling refreshed and focused.
