Simple life facts everyone should know according to Juston "came-into-the-world-as-a-typo" McKinney: one, if your roommate tries to take a picture of you while you're on the toilet, don't resist it, instead, strike a pose; two, Old Navy clothes are only to be washed if your child is in need of new pants; three, don't fall asleep in your car while the meter's running- you will get a ticket; four, never take your eye off the air hockey table, only bad things will happen; five, despite what you may think, Oreos will not fool the mom's at the school bake sale; six, although it may seem funny to give your child a name that looks like a typo and comes with a cute saying like "Juston time," don't do it.

McKinney took over the Student Union Theatre Thursday night with his witty comments on college life, being a father and the age old debate over plastic pumpkin trick or treat containers versus pillow cases.

Sporting a regular faded, navy hoodie and his newly bought, Old Navy pants, McKinney's attire not only blended in with the college scene, but so did his laid back attitude and hysterical impressions of everyday college life events like getting a ticket or feuding with a roommate over food.

McKinney has been doing comedy for some time, having appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno as well as the television show "King of Queens," and now he can add UConn to his list of venues. McKinney was very well received; he kept the audience laughing the entire show. His act was a series of stories relating to everyday idiosyncrasies that we all are too busy to notice, such as, why buy an enormous book of baby names when you can just use the phonebook? Or why do they call the little minuscule candy bars on Halloween "fun size," when everybody knows that the real fun comes from the gigantic king size bars that only the select few houses give out?

Along with his witty tales and important advice, McKinney offered up several absolutely hysterical impressions. The audience will never be able to listen to Avril Lavigne's song "Girlfriend" again without picturing McKinney's rendition of a psycho girl who just killed off her crush's ex.

A fellow comedian and friend of McKinney, Tommy Savin opened the show with his "Hey Tommy" routine. Opening with, "The women on this campus are absolutely perfect, but you do make mistakes … why not make one with me?" he set the tone for the rest of his act that consisted of completely ridiculous advice on life, all of which accumulated to, "life is like an endless salad at Olive Garden … it sucks."

Entering the theater students were handed buttons adorned with the saying "Thigh Slapping Thursdays," and McKinney and Savin definitely backed up those words. Students walked away not just entertained, but also educated on the important things in life, things like how to prove your client is guilty in the courtroom, or how to attract women with turtlenecks. Students looking for more "Thigh Slapping Thursdays," can see Demetri Martin Thursday Oct. 18 at the Jorgenson Center for the Performing Arts, student tickets are only $5.
