Many people may conclude that a kiss will tell you everything about another person, from their personality, to the way they are in bed, and their commitment ability. Old wives' tales will have you believe that you will know that you are supposed to marry a person if their kisses make you weak in the knees. What if you really love someone who doesn't make you topple over every time you kiss them? But what is it that makes a person a bad kisser, what do you do when you stumble upon one and why is it that we place so much importance on just a kiss?

What is it that is so important about a kiss, it is just the opening act, right? Wrong! For some, a kiss is the romantic handshake, it can make or break the deal. Having confidence while kissing someone can relate to your confidence as a person. It is also arguable that during the kiss you will feel sparks that relate to not just your physical attraction, but your mental connection with the person. Women are found to use the kiss "as a way of assessing the recipient as a potential partner, and later to maintain intimacy and to check the status of a relationship" according to news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health. Men on the other hand are more "apt to having sex without placing much importance on kissing, and sometimes won't even think to kiss at all." If you are a guy, it is important to realize that a kiss could mean a lot to a girl. She could be judging you based on a kiss, so put some thought and effort into it.

"The first kiss needs to be soft and sensual but clean," said Claire Lissitzyn, a 3rd-semester journalism major. "I don't want all of your germs in your mouth because the first kiss needs to leave me with a good impression." A bad kiss usually means the person has bad breath, likes to play tonsil hockey (the act of sticking one's tongue all the way to the back of another's throat), biting when it isn't just the cute nibble, drooling so much that the other person has to wipe mouth their off afterwards or opening your mouth extra wide.
