The comedy of the year is finally on DVD! With Michael Cera (Juno, Arrested Development) and Jonah Hill (Accepted, Knocked Up) as two nerdy high school students spending time trying to get with girls and get some alcohol, the perfect mix between gross slapstick comedy and sweetness, the movie fills the tall order of being one of the, if not the funniest comedy of the year.

And the DVD only gets better. The Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) standard was raised even higher when he signed on to produce the film. The humor is always a little raunchy but it never goes beyond what is acceptable for comedic standards. Released as a regular DVD and as a two disc special edition, for those who loved "McLovin," they are sure to love the special edition.

The two disc special edition comes with hours and hours of bonus footage. It comes with 7 deleted and extended scenes which are nothing short of hilarious. There is a segment called "Cop Car Confessions," which is a clip of actors from the film riding in the cop car that Seth Rogan (Knocked Up) drove in the film. There is also a sequence of auditions which was a laugh riot, and of course, the making of "Superbad."

What was particularly enjoyable about the making of was the fact that it was actually enjoyable. Normally this is a feature that should be skipped right over, and is normally put on movie DVD's for the truly die-hard fans of a film. But even this clip was hysterical, proving more so that this movie truly is one of the funniest of the season.

The best feature however, that goes without saying, is "Snakes on Jonah," which is a segment where Jonah Hill is continuously tortured with animals.

This is of course, not forgetting about the Gag Reel. Usually this is the best part of a movie's bonus feature, and while it is on par with "Snake on Jonah," it doesn't surpass it. There is also the segment featured on the DVD "Knocked Up" called "Line-O-Rama," where quotable quotes are repeated continuously for laugh.

Last but not least, there is "Michael's Voicemails From Jonah," which is one of the strangest bonus features seen on a DVD in a long time, but it is side-splitting and entertaining.

The DVD, all in all, is a great success. Not only does it come with fantastic bonus features, but the audio and visual is stunning. Those who saw it in the movie theatres are going to love this treasured film, now a pop-culture phenomenon. "Superbad" is also available in full screen format, wide screen format, and blue ray disc, but the two disc special edition is worth jumping at, before it flies off the shelves.
