Giants Acting Like 'Sore Winners'

Dear My Fellow New England Patriots Fans,

It's been quite a week for us, hasn't it? Are you still shocked about the events of Sunday? Yeah, me too. Sitting there, wearing my Tom Brady jersey, watching the confetti fall down onto our victorious opponents while my four Giants fans friends jumped and high-fived each other, all I could do was stare in disbelief with my head in my hands. I felt numb, shocked, disappointed.

Watching the elation on my friends' faces, seeing them call their parents to ask if they were going to the store the next morning and if they could please pick up a Super Bowl Champions T-shirt and hat for them, I must say I initially felt happy for them. It reminded me of the first time we won it all against the heavily favored Rams back in 2002. Remember those good times? I sure do. And the two Super Bowls after that? Oh, just grand.

I bet you all are still getting hassled by your Giants fans friends, huh? I know I am. Why can't they just win graciously? Seriously. After our first Super Bowl did we go around, needlessly ridiculing the Rams? No. Did we curse the name of Jake Delhomme after our second win? Nope. Did we call the corpulent Andy Reid names after our third? Of course not.

That's because we aren't sore winners, like all those Giants fans who celebrate the Patriots' 18-1 record rather than the fact that they just won the Super Bowl. That's right, we're better than that.

You can spend more than a lifetime being mad at the fans from that other city but, the truth is, we have nothing to be ashamed about for this season. Yeah, we didn't win the big one but, besides that, was this season really a complete waste?

After all, we are only one of two teams to ever have an undefeated regular season, all while the entire world was calling us cheaters, low-lives, scum, classless and multiple other terrible names game after game. That, in and of itself, is a testament to the resolve and candor of this veteran team.

this super bowl win would not have meant half as much if it were any other team that had gone 18-0 and was vying for the perfect season. but it was new england versus new york. (Continued…)

"...we are only one of two teams to ever have an undefeated regular season, all the while the entire world was calling us cheaters..." I thought that was because, uh, the Patriots were caught cheating. (Continued…)

Eh, we didn't need this Super Bowl. We've already got two recently. I was just glad the Sox got another World Series title. Since 2000: Red Sox 2, Yankees 0. (Continued…)

Tom Brady; clearly a great player. He almost won the game.

Bill Belicheck; clearly (somehow) lacks class. He came from the Naval Academy (his Dad), Wesleyan U (clearly an intellect) and the Giants organization ( a Parcells protege; though Parcells was often a horse's ass, he at least in victory showed some joy ). (Continued…)

Oh cry me a river. Tom Brady's bandwagon moronic frat-boy brigade needs to man up and admit defeat. Oh and Mr Reardon I love the way it only matters from 2000 on funny the way you can skew records to your liking. (Continued…)

"And we will be angry." We're all terrified. Really.

Bunch of babies. You Pats fans shove your arrogant, holier-than-thou crap down everyone's throats all year, your QB scoffs at the notion that he can be held to 17 points, your coach is a cheater who runs the score up every chance he gets, and the Giants are the sore winners? The sore anything!?

You're full of shit and you know it. (Continued…)

Tim,

Giants fan here. It's clear that you are in denial. It's also clear as a diehard fan you don't even know your own team. You have an aging defense. (Continued…)

Provide me one example of how the Giants are "sore winner". Why because Strahan said "We stomped you out!"? Well that's actually true and that was directed at every single team the Giants beat on the road. (Continued…)
