"There was a lot relief," Stahl said. "It was a really hard game. They put eight and nine guys behind the ball defensively and they were very strict and organized. It was a relief that we got a goal. It released the game a lot."
But according to Stahl, the team was never worried about their offense.
"We knew it was just a matter of time before it would come," Stahl said. "We just kept believing in ourselves, trusting ourselves and kept doing the work we do."
The Huskies played the Seawolves without defensive starters Kwame Watson-Siriboe and Greg King. Both were injured in UConn's game against Tulsa last Sunday.
Filling in their places were Robert Brickley and Cruz Hernandez.
The shutout was a testament to how the team has been working hard together, Reid said.
After three games this season, the Huskies aren't satisfied with the way they've been performing, but are taking the positives out of each match.
"It's getting better," White said. "Like last game, we didn't have a good first half but then in the second half we did better. Today's game was kind of tough. There was a lot of fighting and the best thing is that we didn't give up a goal."
