Grammy winning, Chicago-based rapper Lupe Fiasco has been scheduled for a Sat., Nov. 15, performance at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, according to the artist's Web site and SUBOG Concert Chair Amanda Campbell.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Oct. 28, and will cost $10 for balcony, $15 for floor for students and $20 for balcony, $30 for floor for non-students.
Fiasco, 26, follows in the same vein as lyrically conscious fellow Chicago rappers Common and Kanye West, with whom he toured in the summer of 2007.
He toured separately with West on his Glow In The Dark Tour in 2008.
Fiasco's first album, 2006's "Food & Liquor," was a critical and commercial success, receiving impressive accolades from the media (it earned an 83 out of 100 on Metacritic). It peaked at the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200.
His follow-up, 2007's "The Cool," debuted as the No. 1 rap record in the U.S., a spot it maintained for nine weeks, along with garnering a similarly favorable media reaction.
In 2008, Fiasco won the Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance for his song "Daydreamin'" featuring Jill Scott.
An opener for the show is still being determined.
