Another weekend, another slew of great match-ups. While it's impossible to go see every game, here's some can't miss UConn games for you to follow.
One you should attend:
Women's Ice Hockey: St. Lawrence vs. UConn, Saturday 4 p.m. at Freitas Ice Forum
Before the season started, Dominique Thibault was invited to training camp for the Canadian national women's ice hockey team. She leads the way for the Huskies with eight total points and three goals this season. Last year, St. Lawrence was a strong, well-balanced team that finished the season at 28-10.
If you don't want care about the match-up, here's another reason to go - the Huskies have scored 20 goals in only three games this season.
One you should follow up on:
Men's Ice Hockey: UConn at Alaska-Anchorage, Saturday 12:07 a.m. (EST)
It's the opening weekend for the men's hockey team and they start out the season by traveling some 3,400 miles to play in Alaska. One would figure an Alaskan hockey team to be pretty good, but the Seawolves only managed to rack up seven wins last season. For traveling across five different time-zones, the Huskies will be eager to come back with a win.
One you should follow up on:
Field Hockey: UConn at Albany, Sunday 2 p.m.
Last weekend, the field hockey team was supposed to play Georgetown at home but that game was postponed because of an outbreak of the Norovirus on the Georgetown campus. Coach Nancy Stevens' crew is looking forward to getting back on the field after an 11-day break.
