The Storrs side: The week that was, UConn style

Issue date: 10/13/08 Section: Sports
Game of the Week: Women's Soccer 0, No. 15 West Virginia 0 - In front of a national audience on ESPNU (sort of), the Huskies kept a potent Mountaineers offense out of the goal to pull out a scoreless tie.
After beating Pittsburgh 2-1 Friday, UConn is unbeaten in back-to-back games for only the second time all year.
Key Performance: Brittany Tegeler, Women's Soccer - The forward, up for the Lowe's Senior CLASS award, scored both goals - which tied a career-high - in the Huskies' 2-1 road win against the Panthers.
Tegeler is UConn's second leading scorer with three goals this season.
Big Letdown: Men's Soccer's Offense - Ray Reid's bunch has scored just one goal the last four games and has a 1-2-1 record in that span.
And this comes after an earlier four-game stretch in which UConn combined for two goals. Must be something in the water.
Reigning Player of the Year O'Brian White, who scored a nation's best 53 points and 23 goals last year, has four scores through 11 games.
Wish We Were There: Washington, D.C.; Saturday - It may have ended in a (yawn) scoreless tie, but the men's soccer matchup with Georgetown had it all: action (33 total shots), physical play (UConn received two yellow cards), and nice weather.
Number of the Week: 32 - The number of goals the women's hockey team has scored through six games.
