Juicy: '7 Things' Cyrus hates about ex-BF Nick Jonas
Kevin Duffy
Issue date: 11/3/08 Section: Focus
When Miley Cyrus' new song, '7 Things I Hate About You' was orignally written, it was nothing more than cheesy replica of a scene in "10 Things I Hate About You" where Kat Stratford stands in front of the class and recites all the reasons she hates (but loves) Patrick Verona.
Now, the song has taken on new meaning. After her painfully harsh break-up with Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, Cyrus actually does hate her gorgeous, 16-year-old ex-boyfriend.
At a concert last weekend in Paris, Cyrus prefaced the performance of her latest hit single with: "This is for every girl out there who hates their ex-boyfriend." She proceeded to sing with intense passion and then she put the finishing touches on her emo-rendition of the crappy pop song by saying "I still hate you."
What she didn't do, however, is explain why she hates Jonas. If you pay close attention to the song, it's not hard to figure out. Here are the seven reasons why Cyrus deservedly hates her pig of an ex-boy-toy.
1. You're vain
Ugh, guys. They're all so self-absorbed. Jonas - though cute and innocent on the outside - is no different. Granted, it's difficult to remain humble when pre-teen girls around the country have your poster on their bedroom walls next to their Beanie Baby collection, but Jonas let his stardom go straight to his head.
2. Your games
This one is likely inspired by the stunt that sent this once-promising relationship down the tubes - Jonas held hands with another girl. Upon hearing the news that Jonas and Disney star Selena Gomez locked pinkies, Cyrus went off the deep-end - and rightfully so. Before she knew it, Jonas was playing tonsil hockey with his new girl.
3. You're insecure
Maybe, just maybe, Jonas' whole macho-man image is a front. Maybe he's as pathetic and desperate as his older brother Paul. Only Cyrus would know.
4. You love me, you like her
A typical guy. Jonas claims to have cared for Cyrus, but he always had difficulty restraining himself from flirting with that cute 12-year-old who was on the brink of puberty during his autograph sessions.
5. You make me laugh, you make me cry; I don't know which side to buy
On his good days, Jonas could make Cyrus smile at the drop of a hat. On the bad days, he refused to pay for their lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. What's a girl to do in a situation like this? Are there any guys out there who truly care?
6. Your friends, they're jerks; when you act like them just know it hurts
Nick, your brothers are losers. Stop hanging out with them and make some new friends.
7. You make me love you
Still, a year after their break-up, Cyrus isn't completely over Jonas. It's about time she forgets about that jerk and moves on with her life. If Cyrus wants to stand up for every girl who's been victimized by a two-faced goon like Jonas, she needs to take the advice of her wise friend Leslie and "just be Miley."

Okay firstly 7 Things is the worst pop song I have heard in a hell of a long time. Seconly I dont think that Nick would really be like that. Yes a lot of celebs have another side to them that the press only get to see, even if Nick does smile and be all nicey nicey to the press I dont think he would be as bad as that. (Continued…)

Actually I believe that the words vain, insecure and friends who are jerks probably describes Miley much more than Nick. My theory is that he came to his senses and realized she wasn't good for him and dumped her. (Continued…)
