It's been almost a full week since Election Day's conclusion. The American self-proclaimed holiday was a day that many students on the UConn campus had been looking forward to, some because it was the end of campaign phone calls, on-campus demonstrations and the appearance of Barack Obama's face, well, everywhere, and others because of the possible historical context that the day would hold for the rest of America's existence.

And as the day came and went - and Obama won, it wasn't just UConn students parading around campus celebrating the win - but people everywhere. Specifically: celebrities.

It's no secret that, prior to Obama's election as the next President of the United States, he had countless celebrity supporters. It felt like every day there was a new endorsement announcement - from every celebrity ranging from P. Diddy to Robert DeNiro.

It was also not surprising when John Legend, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Nick Cannon, Scarlett Johansson, Amber Valetta and other celebrity showstoppers got together to create the pro-Obama video with The Black Eyes Peas, "Yes We Can."

But now that all is said and done and the election has officially been, what some call "Baracked," what does the celebrity community have to say for themselves?

A majority of the community is rejoicing, according to a BBC news, which has a number of celebrity reactions post-election.

"It's a great day," said Director Spike Lee in the story. "It's a beautiful morning, a new dawn, a new beginning - not just in America but the world over.

"So many people sacrificed for us to have a voice," said Usher. "It was one thing to have a voice but, to eventually know the best way to use it and then it grows into this, it's just incredible."

And Madonna reacted in her own way, at her Petco Park concert in San Diego, Calif., where she paused her show to sing her praises of Obama.

Signonsandiego.com reports that Madonna was overcome with excitement, saying things like "Let's hear it for Obama! It's the best day of my life," "Are you as happy as I am?" and "This is the beginning of a whole new world!"

"It feels like hope won," Oprah said. "It feels like it's not just victory for Barack Obama. It feels like America did the right thing. It feels like there's a shift in consciousness. It feels like something really big and bold has happened here, like nothing ever in our lifetimes did we expect this to happen."

But the most notable reaction to the win had to come from Kanye West, who posted on his blog a picture of the new president with the headline "Hi Mom, Obama won!" West's mother Donda died last November.

Whoopadeedoo. Who cares? The "savior" is just a run of the mill politician and will be proven as such.
