Game of the week: No. 8 Duke 2, No. 5 Field Hockey 1 (Saturday) - The Blue Devils' Marian Dickinson scored in the 55th minutes to send the Huskies packing after just one game in the NCAAs.

Senior all-everything Lauren Aird scored UConn's lone goal in the final game of her brilliant career.

Key performance: Tina Charles, C, Women's Basketball (Sunday) - Although Maya Moore led the Huskies with 20 points in a 82-71 win over Georgia Tech at the XL Center, Charles's 15 points put her over 1,000 for her career.

Big Letdown: Randy Edsall - Two days after saying it was "Cody and Zach or Zach and Cody," it was neither Cody Endres nor Zach Frazer at quarterback for the Huskies in the Carrier Dome, but Tyler Lorenzen. Edsall flat-out lied to reporters.

Edsall has also denied interest in coaching at Syracuse, but with Greg Robinson now officially out, can we really believe him?

Wish we were there: postgame press conference, Syracuse, N.Y. (Saturday) - I, for one, would've liked to hear Edsall's explanation. And to shake my head at this (per the Hartford Courant):

"I guess I can apologize, but I'm not going to apologize because there's certain strategical situations that go through with the quarterback situation."

Number of the Week: 1 - Donald Brown's place in school history in career rushing yards. after his 131-yard effort Saturday.
