Some students are bitter about the high budget that is allotted to club sports. While this is something that many students enjoy, does it really deserve the $1 million it is given? Some say no. But if those who participates in club sports find it an integral part of their campus life speaks up to the task force, they may have a greater chance of reducing their budget cuts.

This is the same for every other group on campus. This is the time to speak up and make your voice heard. Regardless of student participation, many sacrifices will need to be made, but if we take an active role in these decisions, our own areas of interest may be spared. Hogan and the CORE task force are making it very easy for student contribution. These meetings provide an open forum for students to voice their ideas in a welcoming atmosphere. Meetings are conveniently held right in the Dodd Center and every student and group should try to participate. You can also submit suggestions right on the CORE Web site.

If we don't take this opportunity to voice our opinions about UConn's financial situation, we may lose out on many campus resources that we take for granted.
