NBA
Orlando Magic at Miami Heat Saturday 7:30 p.m.

Aside from the intrastate match up this game features both the best team in the league in the Magic as well as an MVP candidate in Dwayne Wade. Add to that the fact that Magic coach Stan van Gundy coached the Heat, and this is a good Eastern conference showdown.

San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers Sunday 3:30 p.m. ABC

San Antonio is a lot better than people give them credit for. They are always overlooked and Tim Duncan is quietly having an MVP-caliber season. Playing against a difficult Lakers team could be a good measure of their potential.

NCAA Men's Basketball
Maryland at No. 2 Duke Saturday 12:00 p.m. ESPN
Duke has the inside track to the top ranking after Virginia Tech downed previously undefeated Wake Forest. They have it in their grasp unless they look past Maryland. In the ACC there is always the chance for the upset and the Terps might catch Coach K and the Blue Devils looking ahead.

NHL
Western Conference vs. Eastern Conference Sunday 6:00

Although Sidney Crosby is out of the game for the East, the NHL All-Star game is one of the few occasions on which I might actually sit and watch hockey for a period of time. Chances are there will be a lot of scoring, and who doesn't like that?
