Already striving for stardom on his UCTV show, Joey Homza is trying to have a Grammy Moment.
A 3rd-semester sophomore and exploratory major, Homza recently entered a contest at CBS.com called "My Grammy Moment," where contestants upload an original, non-edited video of a lipsync to Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl." The video of the winner of the competition will be played during the Grammys on Feb. 8, at 8:00 p.m.
Filmed from the front seat of his car, Homza's video has landed him enough votes to be placed in the contest's top 20, out of hundreds of entries.
"The video is kind of ridiculous, but I really like the support I've been getting from the UConn community and I hope people continue to support me," said Homza.
The video submitted by Homza was a creative collaboration with him as the actor and friends Matt Nelsen and Sean Phillips as videographers/directors.
