Game of the Week: UConn 94, Providence 61 (Saturday) - With a runaway second half in which they outscored the Friars 56-27, the Huskies made sure there would be nothing holding them back from their first win against the Friars since 2006 and a shot at moving to No. 1 in the national rankings. Center Hasheem Thabeet recorded his first career triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Key Performance: Freshman Tiffany Hayes nets career-high 23 against Louisville (Monday) - Hayes, who came into the game struggling with her shot, caught fire in UConn's 93-65 win over Louisville at Gampel Pavilion Monday. Louisville chose to leave Hayes open for nearly the entire game, and Hayes made them pay by shooting 8-for-13, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range for 23 points.
Big Letdown: Men's hockey swept by Holy Cross (Friday/Saturday) - It's tough to pick on the men's hockey team for a second straight week, but the Huskies squandered a 3-0 lead in their first game to lose 5-3 Friday; Saturday, the Crusaders continued to pour it on in a 4-1 win. With just one more loss, the Huskies (6-20-1) will match their entire loss total from last year.
Wish We Were There: Albert J. McCarthy Pool, Washington D.C. (Saturday) - The men's and women's teams combined to set 10 pool records in a number of different events against the Hoyas on Saturday including the one- and three-meter dives, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard backstrokes, 200-yard IM and 400-yard medley relay.
Number of the Week: 14 - The number of weeks in which both the men's and women's basketball teams have held No. 1 rankings at the same time.
