"UConn is what
you make it to be"
With fewer than 100 days left until graduation, some seniors can't help but think of all the things they regret about college.
"Aside from not getting a few of my gen-eds out of the way earlier, I regret not appreciating my time here more and taking advantage of all the different things there are to do," said Parthena Aprea, an 8th-semester communications and design double major.
But there's still plenty of time to turn those potential regrets into memorable experiences during your last semester of college.
Get all the necessary and easy stuff out of the way before it is too late. That means applying for graduation (it's clicking a button on PeopleSoft; it takes two seconds.) and getting all your things in order with your advisor. Yes, go see your advisor and make sure you are all set. The last thing you need to happen is noticing that the geography course you are taking does not satisfy your requirements.
"One of my biggest fears is forgetting to apply for graduation and getting screwed out of all the fun," says Brian Wong Won, an 8th semester molecular and cell biology major.
This is also not the time to neglect job interviews and applications of any shape or form. Remember, business before pleasure.
Make a UConn Bucket List
No, you are not dying, just leaving. But before you leave you should definitely make a list of all the things you have not yet done on campus and hope to do before you graduate. Some ideas include:
• Eating at every dining hall on campus (East is the only one left)
• Going to a sporting event other than basketball and football (We have one of the most prolific sports programs in the country. Check out Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer, and even Polo.)
• Visiting every dorm. (Maybe you have never stepped foot inside West or Hilltop. Do not be scared, make a friend and check it out.)
• Running across those damn hills. (You see them every time you drive into campus on 195. Go ahead and check it out. You might be enlightened.)
