There is no question that UConn students seem to have the world at their fingertips. At the Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday, students met representatives from study abroad programs based on six of the seven continents.

"Seeing all the options and tables is a bit overwhelming but it is really exciting, and interesting to be here," said Colleen Thornberg, a 2nd -semester pre-elementary education major.

Rows and rows of tables lined the ballroom with people there to answer questions and provide any means of assistance to the students.

"Everyone here is really involved in the study abroad programs and willing to help the students," Thornberg said.

"The representatives at one of the tables I went to were really energetic and interested in their program," said Christie Atlanasao, a 2nd-semester pre-education major.

While Thornberg is sure she wants to study in Ireland during the Spring semester of her sophomore year, others came to evaluate their options.

"I know I definitely want to study abroad, but I'm not sure of my major or where I want to go," said Sam Simons, a 2nd-semester exploratory major.

The set-up of the study abroad fair was welcoming, and it was easy for students to navigate their way through the room. Each table was clearly marked with the location it represented, brochures were given out to provide further details and students were encouraged to put their names on sign-up sheets. By putting their name on a sign-up sheet, students can be reassured that they will receive further information about the study abroad programs.

Off to the side was a financial aid table that informed students how they would go about receive financial aid for study abroad programs. There were sheets available for certain scholarships, as well as how and where to apply for them.
