SUBOG's nearly sold-out comedy show tonight has been cancelled.
Comedy Central performer Nick Swardson was supposed to take the stage at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts tonight at 7, but cancelled due to unspecified health reasons.
Miguel Almodovar, SUBOG's vice president of programming, told The Daily Campus that the cancellation came as a surprise. Almodovar said Swardson's agent called Wednesday night, saying that Swardson had fallen ill at the airport and had been advised not to travel.
While a makeup date for the event has not been set, Almodovar said SUBOG is looking to get Swardson in Storrs as soon as he is well. He urged the estimated 2,000 ticketholders to keep their tickets, and said that refunds for the $10 and $20 tickets will be available if a makeup date cannot be scheduled.
