While most fans at Gampel Pavilion spent Wednesday evening watching Syracuse-UConn, I sat back and observed Dale Nosel, better known as "Blue and White guy." A little background on Dale: he attends every football, men's basketball and women's basketball game and paints half of his body blue and the other half white. It remains unclear whether he switches which side is blue and which side is white on a game-to-game basis. Dale has only missed one men's basketball game-Jan. 3 vs. Rutgers (it conflicted with the football team's International Bowl)- since he became Blue and White guy as a freshman six years ago. He has been featured in articles by The New York Times and ESPN.com. Now, he's made it into The Daily Campus. Here is a live-blog of Dale's actions during Wednesday night's game:

6:50- The crowd boos Syracuse as the Orange run into the locker room. Dale doesn't open his mouth. Booing is such an undergraduate thing to do. He simply rocks back and forth while he listens to his iPod. Dale later revealed the secrets to his playlist.

"Mostly hard hip-hop and some rock," he says. "I always end with 'Guerilla Radio' by Rage Against the Machine."

6:51-Dale stares into the ESPN camera with as intimidating look as any 155-pound man covered in blue and white paint can have.

7:08- Dale and Jonathan the Husky are standing next to each other. Dale doesn't make eye contact. Though its impossible to know if Jonathan is making eye contact, it seems doubtful. The two have an unspoken beef. It seems as if they are jealous of each other..

7:10- Jerome Dyson goes down with a twisted ankle. Dale immediately starts texting.

7:17- Dale finally starts the U-C-O-N-N chant. Took him long enough.

7:19- Syracuse fans and UConn fans start competing with chants of "Let's go Orange" and "Let's go Huskies" (although there may be some "F--- the Orange" mixed in there as well). Dale ignores the juvenile behavior and texts on his phone. After all, what self-respecting 23-year-old would participate in that poppycock?

This story proves that Dale needs to get a life.
