The starting lineup will include a few new faces when No. 1-ranked UConn takes on Seton Hall. UConn's three seniors, Renee Montgomery, Tahirah Williams and Cassie Kerns, will all be in the starting lineup when the Huskies take on the Pirates Saturday night (7:30, CPTV).

This year will mark the first time in program history that Senior Night has been held at the XL Center and not at Gampel Pavilion, where it has traditionally taken place.

"It's a great group and I've had a lot of fun coaching them," Auriemma said. "You can't say that about everyone."

Montgomery, UConn's starting point guard since her freshman season and a First Team All-American her junior year, has enjoyed the most on-court success of the trio. This season, Montgomery ranks second on the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game and leads the team with 5.4 assists per game.

Auriemma stressed the fact that there are ways of measuring success besides statistical achievements and accolades and that Williams and Kerns have just as much to celebrate Saturday night.

"The two of them have been completely different, yet completely involved in what we've done," Auriemma said. "What they take out of this is a lot more I hope than just how many points they score that night."

Though Kerns' basketball career with the Huskies may be entering its final weeks, Kerns - who is heavily involved in photography - will return to UConn in the fall to complete her art degree. Though her major has demanded much of her time, Kerns has grown close with Montgomery over the past two seasons, Montgomery said.

"She's always there for us when we need her," Montgomery said.

Auriemma left the decision of which game to hold Senior Night festivities at - the Gampel Pavilion finale, which was this past Tuesday, or the regular season finale at the XL Center - up to his three seniors.

The decision to hold it this Saturday at the XL Center in the team's final home game came down to getting as much of the three senior's families to the game as possible.

"We just talked to each other and pretty much in a two-minute decision, it was like 'yeah, we want our family to come,'" Montgomery said.
