Tennis celebrates a successful Florida trip

UConn's women's tennis team won four straight matches in Florida over spring break, while, the men's team dominated three opponents in Florida.
The women (4-5) defeated South Dakota State, 6-1, in their first match. Emily Herb returned to match play with a 6-4 victory.
UConn also beat Radford, 4-2, and Katie Motiz and BreAnn Cheung both won in singles.
The Huskies continued their streak by beating the top junior college team in the nation, with a 5-4 win over Hillsborough Community College. Cheung won the clincher in an emotional victory.
To close out their trip, UConn shut out Valparaiso 7-0. Jennifer Marotta and Kelley LoRusso added wins in doubles for the Huskies.
During the same spring break trip, the men defeated South Dakota State, Monmouth, and Robert Morris by scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 7-0 respectively.
Key players were Joe Goldstein, Joey Michaels, Tom Cook, and Andrew Marcus. The tennis team's record is 6-2 this spring.
