Welcome to Philly

Wednesday, 11:15 p.m. - Daily Campus reservations at the Loews Hotel in downtown Philadelphia were canceled for unknown reasons. I'm getting a cheese steak.
Thursday, 1:26 p.m. - We get an e-mail that says coach Jim Calhoun will be out for today's game due to an illness. We turn to the depth chart and are glad we picked up George Blaney off the free agency in 2001.
2:01 - There's a security guard who looks exactly like Steve Kerr, except with a mustache. I'm going to muster up the courage to ask for an autograph.
2:41 - Three female UConn fans cheer for the team as they're warming up. They're joined by three 10-year-old Chattanooga fans who try to rival their girlish screams.
2:42 - There's a small confrontation between the UConn fans and a member of Chattanooga's pep band. Everything is settled when the pep band remembers they're from Chattanooga.
2:46 - Scrappy, the Chattanooga mascot, is escorted out onto the court with some cheerleaders. I'm not sure which is more impressive: the cheerleaders or the bird wearing the conductor's hat.
2:48 - All aboard the Chattanooga Choo-Choo.
2:57 - Stanley Robinson just threw it off the backboard to himself for a thunderous dunk. My prediction? Robinson makes SportsCenter with a dunk this game.
2:59 - Nothing better than sitting directly in front of Chattanooga fan section.
3:05 - Hasheem gets in the middle of the Huskies' pump-up circle and tries to break it down. I think he just did the sprinkler. That would never have happened if Calhoun was here.
3:06 - The road to the championship starts … now.
3:13 - An announcement goes off in the arena promoting the women's water polo NCAA Championship. The tournament is May 8 to May 10; maybe that's why our hotel reservation was in May.
3:16 - The only thing the Chattanooga fans are shouting when UConn has the ball is, "three seconds." There aren't any UConn players in the paint.
3:23 - Andre Dixon enters the game for Chattanooga. Wait, that's just Jasper Williams.
