Police have arrested the UConn student who was beaten and robbed during a planned drug sale in Charter Oak Apartments last month.
Travis Orfe, 21, is charged with operating a drug factory, interfering with an officer, falsely reporting an incident and seven other charges, according to UConn police.
On Feb. 4, Orfe called police to report an armed robbery and home invasion at his apartment in Brown Hall. Police later arrested Roberto Nadal, of North Windham, and Jonathan Cotto-Rubert, of Willimantic and charged them with holding Orfe at gunpoint and stealing approximately $9,000 in property from him, including $6,300 in cash. According to police, Nadal beat and choked Orfe and threatened to kill him if he reported the incident.
Orfe told police that he had arranged to sell marijuana to Nadal, an acquaintance. Officers applied for an arrest warrant for Orfe, who turned himself into police on March 20.
Orfe was held on a $100,000 bond and appeared in Rockville Superior Court March 20. He has not yet entered a plea and will appear again April 24.
