Name: A.J. Price

Sport: Basketball

Year: Senior

Major: Liberal Arts

Hometown: Amityville, N.Y.

This weekend, A.J. Price scored 47 points and dished out 11 assists in UConn's first two NCAA Tournament games against Chattanooga and Texas A&M.

In the last few games, do you feel this is the best you've played in your college career?

That's not for me to say; I don't really know. I've played well throughout my college career despite my first year back. I've played well for a few stretch of games, I think its more important because of the time of the season. I'm playing well and the team is playing well right now.

Any other sports when you were younger?

I played football but I'm too scared to get hit. I'm not like Jerome Dyson; I played in the street and in the playground.

Who's your childhood idol?

My father. There's always the obvious ones like Michael Jordan and all that, but I look up to my father - just leading an Ivy League school to the Final Four; that's something special. That's something we'll never see again.

How great is it to have your mom at all the games leading the UConn chant?

It feels good. I'm glad to see her so happy and enthusiastic, and it just makes me proud that I can see her like that.

Honorable mentions:

Tina Charles, Women's Basketball - Charles scored a season-high 32 points and recorded 11 rebounds in the Huskies' first round win over Vermont in the NCAA Tournament

Jeff Adrien, Men's Basketball - Adrien poured in 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in UConn's win over Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

BreAnn Cheung, Women's Tennis - Cheung was named last week's Big East Player of the Week. She also won her match on Saturday against Georgetown.
