A week that included a win, a rainout and a lot of traveling ended in heartbreaking fashion when the Fairfield Stags defeated the UConn men's tennis team, 4-3. The loss drops UConn to 5-5 this spring, while Fairfield boosts its already impressive record to 14-1.

UConn went up against a Fairfield team that includes three nationally ranked players, and the Huskies gave the Stags everything they could handle.

"The match was a dogfight today," said head coach Glenn Marshall. "We were down in the doubles and came back to get the point. There were three matches that went to three sets and unfortunately we were only able to win one of them today."

Joe Goldstein and Joey Michaels lost their matches in three sets while Tom Cook picked up the victory in a close match. Andrew Marcus and Dave Adams won in singles, while the pairings of Ben Schueler and Goldstein and Scott Warden and Marcus were victorious in doubles.

Cook and Michaels were defeated in doubles, while Warden lost his singles match. The match was a close one throughout, but did not go UConn's way in the end.

UConn's last two matches of the regular season take place at home, when Boston University travels to Storrs on April 9 and Villanova closes out the Big East schedule the on April 11.
