Disney channel original TV star Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus opens herself up to a whole new world with her new movie, in theaters now. Will she be the next "Lizzie McGuire?" The singer/TV star/new movie star put on a good show for viewers that opened this past Friday night.
The movie played in various theatres across the U.S. and viewers ranged from 8-year-olds to college students. What is it about Cyrus that appeals to such a large demographic?
The movie itself was entertaining enough and the music was exceptional. Singer Taylor Swift made a guest appearance and songs sung by Rascal Flatts and Billy Ray Cyrus were also present throughout the film, along with Cyrus' own new songs.
The film was rather good, with Miley's co-host and man-candy Lucas Till there to entice the teenagers of the audience and Billy Ray Cyrus there for the older women. Miley Cyrus' acting was somewhat questionable in certain scenes, but altogether the plot of the film was captivating.
The final scene of the film was slightly awkward due to some dialogue in the script, a weird turn in the story and some rather crude country outfits. However, it had all the makings of a typical happy ending of a Disney movie, and some great songs and dances that only Hannah Montana could display.
Regardless of what you think of Cyrus' true character outside of the show, the actual production of "Hannah Montana The Movie" was definitely entertaining and worth watching. It's a fun twist on the rags-to-riches story, with some endearing teen love and great country music.
