Don't fail your fitness exam

The forecast for next week is rain. Appropriate, considering that many students would rather be stuck in the library on a gloomy day than during the sunny alternative.
However, with the semester quickly coming to a close, it is important to stay focused and get the grades that you deserve.
The question that I find most appropriate: where did the semester go after all? As I begin to put together study guides for my cumulative exams and sit down to write that last feature piece of the year, I decide my time is better suited to reflecting upon different ways to stay focused and keep my health in mind during finals week. This is my column and I figure that as The Daily Campus' resident health columnist, I should be able to give you my own tips. So look no further, UConn, here they are:
Run
No, not away. The first thing I do to stay focused and well balanced during finals week is to run. And although running may solely be my exercise of choice, there are other opportunities out there that may suit your individual likes better. From personal experience, I find that exercise definitely puts your mind at ease and undoubtedly gives students a way to channel their energy into something other than their academics.
And the most helpful component to my run is without a doubt the playlist I listen to. Some of my favorite song suggestions? Anything by The Hives, Paramore or Kanye West. At a running pace I'd suggest "If I Never See Your Face Again" (The Swizz Beats Remix featuring Cross) by Maroon 5, "That's my DJ" by Girl Talk and "This is Why I'm Hot," by MIMS.
Eat something, but not everything
When you're cooped up in the library for hours on end, the selection at Bookworms and the convenience store downstairs may not always have the healthiest options. This is why it is crucial for you to get out of the library, stretch your legs a bit and make it to the Student Union or dining hall whenever possible. Although the Student Union may not always have the healthiest variety of options either, it is important for you to get a full meal in your system to keep your body functioning appropriately and your mind on the right page.
