After picking up their first Hockey East victory of the season this past Sunday with a 7-2 win over Maine, the Huskies look to capitalize on the momentum as they face off against Boston College (3-3-4, 2-2-1 Hockey East) for a home-and-home series this weekend.

The Huskies will first face the Eagles at home Saturday at 1 p.m. before heading up to Conte Forum at Boston College for the second game on Sunday at noon.

Going into the weekend, UConn's record stands at (5-4-2 (1-2-2) and the result of this weekend's series could go a long way in shaping the Huskies destiny.

"This is one of those series that could define our season, or set us back a little bit," coach Heather Linstad said. "Hopefully we'll define it by becoming more consistent and I think that's been our biggest thing."

While a repeat of Sunday's seven goal explosion against a tough BC defense may be a lot to ask, it is important that the Huskies do maintain their offensive focus, as that has been an issue for the Huskies at times.

"We rattled off seven goals last week but there have been other times where it's looked like we've never had offense," Linstad said. "I think scoring has to be one of our main focuses, every game we're trying to at least score three goals and I think if you score three every game it gives you a better chance to win."

The Huskies are currently in 6th place in the Hockey East standings with four points, and are five points out of first place, with New Hampshire, Northeastern and Providence tied for 1st with nine points. Handing BC a couple of losses will go a long way for the Huskies, as BC is one of the teams that the Huskies are trailing behind.

The Eagles are a dangerous squad, however, featuring a stingy defense and one of the Hockey East's best players, Allie Thunstrom. Thunstrom is among the top ten in both points (10) and goals scored (7) in the Hockey East, and is capable of scoring from anywhere on the ice.

Just as the Huskies are coming off of a big win, however, the Eagles are coming off a very bad loss. Last time out, the Eagles were defeated 5-1 by a disappointing Vermont team that is currently last in the Hockey East standings. Now may be a good chance for the Huskies to take advantage and show themselves how good they really are.

"I think we've played very well at times and I think we've played very poorly at times," Linstad said. "So hopefully with a weekend like this against a conference opponent we can see where we're at."
